Rob Hesp (he/them) is a performance artist, choreographer and dancer from Leeds, England currently based in Copenhagen.

He completed a BA in Performance Arts at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, and has trained alongside performance companies including SITI Company with Anne Bogart (New York) and Sisters Hope (Denmark). Rob is also an associate artist with world renowned contemporary dance company Candoco, with whom he was a member of the youth company before joining their teaching team.

As a performance maker, Rob is interested in the ways people come together, using their work to suggest alternate modes of being and feeling. Their performance work is constructed from a fluid and evolving queer perspective, often using viscous mess, material textures and sculptural object forms alongside the moving body. Rob has created and toured multiple live works, both in the UK and in venues across Europe.

With a creative practice rooted consistently in teaching, Rob encourages his students to work with sensitivity, courage and imagination, tools necessary for realising the transformative potential both in live performance and the everyday.
