Ryslinge Folk High School opens for 2 places for Ukrainian refugees, fully funded by the school’s independent anniversary fund.

The terrible situation in Ukraine right now is sending many people fleeing. Ryslinge Højskole wants to help where we can, even if it is only a small contribution. With support from the school’s independent anniversary fund, Ryslinge Folk High School provides a fully funded folk high school stay for two Ukrainian refugees.

What does it mean to go to Ryslinge Folk High School?

We would like to ask you to see this film which describes the folk high schools in Denmark

  •  At Ryslinge Folk High School there are approx. 40 high school students between 18-28 years of age, who focus on learning theatre and performingarts. The students live together and have both living rooms and classrooms in the same building. All students eat together in our dining room morning, noon, and evening, where informal conversation fills the space. Ryslinge Højskole is one of Denmark’s oldest, which is located in beautiful surroundings on Fyn.

  • There is an obligation to attend classes, meals, and joint activities. It is voluntary if you want to stay on the weekends.

  • The language spoken (in everyday life and in classes) will mainly be Danish. We will be able to switch to English on an ongoing basis in conversations with you.  It is therefore important that you are able to understand and ask questions.

  • A former student from Denmark has been selected and will join Ryslinge Højskole at the same time as you. She will be your tutor, translator, and link throughout the course.
